Welcome to new Hartford Stitch Sewing School Studio
We've moved! After 10 wonderful years on Park Rd (and a year before that setting up anywhere that would host me), we have moved our sewing school into a much bigger, much more accessible, and much brighter space!

Our new studio at 13 Sedgwick Rd is ground floor accessible featuring parking spaces in the front and a full parking lot in the back. We brought in an electrician and can now run 4 - 5 irons at a time: 3 on our ironing wall shown above and another 2 by our sewing stations for those of you who are working on quilts.
Oh and the tables! Workspace is always at a premium and not only do we still have the two big tables from the back room (perfect for basting quilts), but we built two 4 ft by 8 ft work counters at varying heights.

Our sewing tables have now been set up in pods that allow for greater conversation and community. If you've been with me from the beginning then you know that the concept of a "Making Table" was so important to me. All of our initial studio spaces featured tables where everyone could chat and work on their projects. COVID put a damper on that as we needed, and then became very used to, individual spaces, but I still believe some of the best parts of classes are connecting with your neighbor and watching everybody's project come to life!

All this extra space has allowed for some fun extras too! Our Little Free Sewing Store has been moved just inside the door where it's easy to find free, donated fabric and notions. We have portable design walls for all of our quilters. Our specialty machines: embroidery, serger, and coverstitch set up and ready to go along the back wall. Coming soon we will also have a long arm quilting machine, but that gets its' own room in the back!
To celebrate our new space, we're hosting an Open House on Sunday, November 8th from 1pm - 4pm. Come check it out, try out our new long arm quilting machine, meet some teachers, enjoy some refreshments, and work on a quilted heart for the I Found a Quilted Heart project!
We have lots of great events coming up this fall!
