ABOUT THE STUDIO at 207 PARK RD, WEST HARTFORD
When I first opened Hartford Stitch in June 2015, there were a lot of skeptics who weren't sure people actually wanted to learn to sew. I assured them there was and set out to find those people!

I spent a lot of time hauling my machines and suitcases full of tools around. Thanks to Imagine Studio reaching out to us in the very beginning we had a temporary home for the first year! However, after lugging everything back and forth a couple of times a week I wanted a permanent home to grow Stitch.

What happened next is a bit of sewing magic that you can read about here!

After 3 years in our first cozy little studio at 298 Park Rd we have opened in a much bigger space at 207 Park Rd!
​
We're now on the corner of Park Rd and Whiting Lane. It's a blue house with lime green doors, a front porch and big sign that says STAY. Hartford Stitch signage coming soon!

It was a bit bittersweet to close the doors on 298. There were even kids hugging the walls and getting teary eyed. Those 235 sq ft served us well as an incubator for this business, but we're ready to spread out!

Our new space is more than double the size with plenty of tables for sewing, cutting, pressing, making, and creating!

We offer classes and workshops ranging from one-time events to multi- week sessions, sewing parties, and charity sewing events for ages 8 and up. Private lessons are available for our younger friends!
​
When I was "looking" for a permanent home I had one thing on my mind: Creating a Community. I wanted to put down roots and bring in like minded, creative people who wanted to learn and laugh and share in each other's successes and mistakes. (Okay, I also wanted to stop hauling stuff). I'm happy to say that this new studio will give us even more room to create this haven!
