 STUDIO POLICIES/ FAQ 

LOCATION/HOURS

Location: The Hartford Stitch Studio is located at 207 Park Road on the corner of Park Rd and Whiting Lane. It's a blue house with a front porch and lime green doors. Head through the door on the left (push hard-- it sticks!) and upstairs. We are on the second floor with no elevator access. There is a bathroom in the studio on the same floor.

 

Parking: Please park on Park Rd. or Whiting Lane. Give notice to the signs as there is a bus stop directly in front of the building.

Hours: We are open during scheduled classes and events and by appointment.

BUT I'VE NEVER SEWN BEFORE!

You've never sewn before, you failed Home Ec or your mom was an excellent sewist and you'll never compare-- it's all ok! We have classes for all experience levels from the Total Novice to the Experienced Sewist. If you are unsure about a class skill level or parts of the description please contact us so we can assist you!

CAN I USE MY OWN MACHINE/ONE OF YOURS?

We have Singer Heavy Duty 4423 machines and lots of tools in class for you to use!

 

You are welcome, and encouraged, to bring your own sewing machine. Unfortunately we do not have space to store machines between classes.

CLASS POLICIES

All classes require a minimum 3 students in order to be held, unless otherwise noted. Minimum must be met 3 days prior to the beginning of a class. Class registration is on a first come-first serve basis. Registrations are made by purchasing a class on our Adult Class + Event or Youth Class + Camp page.

 

Students are responsible for all materials listed, unless otherwise noted. If you have any questions about materials please contact us directly. We have a limited retail selection. If we carry all the materials needed for a specific class it will say so in the class description. You're not required to purchase supplies from use but we definitely appreciate it!

 

We reserve the right to cancel classes if needed. If we need to cancel a class we will offer a full refund of any unused portions.

 

With the exception of workshops taught by Guest Instructors, students may cancel up to one week prior to event with full refund. After this date you may not transfer to another class or receive a refund unless we are able to fill your spot in the class. No shows forfeit any transfer or refund. Please refer to your specific workshop description for details on cancellation.

Makeups for Kids/Teens: One makeup day is scheduled for each teen/kid session, unless otherwise noted. This day will be used for weather related class cancellations as well as personal absences. We cannot accommodate more than one makeup day per student.

Makeup for Adults: We do not schedule makeup days for adult classes. Should weather force us to cancel a class in a multi-class session we will try to find a makeup day that is acceptable to the majority of students.  If possible, we try to accommodate other absences during another regularly scheduled class that has open seats.

SHOP POLICIES

Our online store is not set up to ship at the time. All orders placed must be picked up at the studio during a class or event. We may be able to accomodate some shipping requests if you contact us prior to ordering. Any orders placed requiring shipping without prior communication will be immediately canceled and refunded.
