Service Description
**Early Registration opens 7/18 for current students, 7/25 at 9am for newsletter subscribers, and 7/27 for general public.** Please note: This class will be held at our new location at 13 Sedgwick Rd in West Hartford! Students will learn fundamental sewing skills, and build upon existing skills, using our proven sewing curriculum of fun kid-approved projects! Classes will be held at our new location at 13 Sedgwick Rd! IMPORTANT: -Students must take Kid Sewing Machine 101, a private lesson or have similar experience before starting an after school class. Please contact us before enrolling if your child has experience from outside Hartford Stitch. While they don't need to be proficient, they must have experience winding a bobbin, threading a machine and sewing. You can register for a Kid Sewing Machine 101 and after school class at the same time. -There is ONE makeup class per session. This is used for illness, weather related cancellations, schedule conflicts, etc. -Student must be 8 years old by the first day of the program. -Students may bring their own machines, but may not leave them at the studio between classes. DETAILS Skill Level: Beginner+. Child must have Kid Sewing Machine 101 or equivalent experience as described above. Ages: 8-11 (elementary school age) Date: 8 sessions- Wednesday, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, and 11/18 from 3:30pm - 4:45pm. Please note: there is no class on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The makeup day will be 12/2 at the same time. Cost: $275 (Scholarships and payment plans are available. Please contact us for more details.) Equipment Needed: Equipment is provided. Children are welcome to bring their own machines if they would like. Machines marketed towards children, typically small and white with pink or purple dials, are not suitable for our projects. Materials Needed: All materials will be provided are included in the registration fee. Instructor: Xarea Cancellation Policy: All cancellation requests must be made 2 weeks before the start date. There are no refunds or credits after this date unless we are able to fill your spot from the waitlist. Eligible refunds will be less the 3% service charge.
Cancellation Policy
-A minimum enrollment must be met by 72 hours prior to the workshop or the workshop may be cancelled. If this happens you will receive a full refund. -You may cancel for a refund or transfer your registration up to 1 week before a one-time workshop, 2 weeks before a multi-week series, 3 weeks before an Intensive Workshop, and 4 weeks before a camp. There are no refunds or class transfers for guest teachers. After this date there will be no refunds or transfers unless we are able to fill your spot from a waitlist. -All student requested refunds will be subject to a 3% processing fee. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to cancel a class at any time. Should we do so you will receive a full refund. -No shows forfeit any refund or transfers. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to substitute teachers either for a single class or the entire session if necessary. Please note: Classes at our Park Rd studio are on the second floor and only accessible by stairs. The Sedgwick Rd studio is on the ground floor. The back classroom has a few stairs to access. Please notify us immediately if you have mobility concerns and we will do our best to accommodate.
