Spring Sewing Foundations Series

Service Description

Sewing Foundations is an 8 week class for any sewer who is new to the machine, looking for a refresher, or ready to try new kinds of sewing! You are welcome to follow the Beginner Sewing, Quilting or Bagmaking Foundation paths during this class. Beginner Sewing project curriculum includes (you won't make everything your first session!): -Drawstring Bag -Fabric Basket -Pillowcase -Zipper Pouch -Apron -Tote Bag -Piped zipper Pillow cover -Basic Woven Shirt -Quilted Placemats Please contact us if you'd like to follow the Bagmaking or Quilting Foundations curricula and would like more details! Registration includes patterns for every project you work on in class. Dates and Times: Mondays, April 15th, 22nd, 29th, May 6th, 13th, 20th, 29th, June 3th from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. Please note there is no class on May 27th Instructor: Caroline Make-up Days: If you miss a class due to illness, travel, quarantine, etc. you are allotted one Open Workshop as a makeup. Each student is only allowed one makeup per session. Materials: Materials are not included in the cost of registration. You can purchase a material kit from the studio or purchase materials on your own. Equipment: You are welcome to use our machines or bring your own. Foundations vs. 101: Adult Sewing Machine 101 is our crash course in how to use a sewing machine (one 2.5 hour class). Sewing Foundations gives us more time to dive into everything we learn in 101 and plenty of opportunity to practice. You know best which style of class works for you! Or, you can do like many of our students, and take both of them for the ultimate start into sewing!


Cancellation Policy

-A minimum enrollment must be met by 48 hours prior to the workshop or the workshop may be cancelled. If this happens you will receive a full refund. -You may cancel for a refund or transfer your registration up to 1 week before a one-time workshop, 2 weeks before a Foundations or After School series and 4 weeks before a camp. There are no refunds or class transfers for guest teachers. After this date there will be no refunds or transfers unless we are able to fill your spot from a waitlist. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to cancel a class at any time. Should we do so you will receive a full refund. -No shows forfeit any refund or transfers. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to substitute teachers either for a single class or the entire session if necessary.
