On the 4th Day of Stitchmas... Wildflower Handmade

Hartford Stitch Sewing Studio 12 Days of Stitchmas Wildflower Handmade Bows

During the 12 Days of Stitchmas, I'm super excited to introduce you to some local makers who use their sewing skills to create beautiful items that you'll definitely want to give (or find under your tree) this year!

To start with I'm ecstatic to feature my dear friend Jennie Muzzy with Wildflower Bows! Jennie and I met several years ago at a New Moms group with our first little ones. She gamely spent these past years listening to me blab on about sewing and fabric but it wasn't until New Year's Day of 2016 that I got her to sit down at a machine. Fast forward almost a year and not only is she now hooked on sewing but she's opened her own business, Wildflower Handmade. Her business has only been open for a few months but just check out her Facebook page to see all of her rave reviews!

As an extra level of awesome, Jennie and her family are very involved in The Ana Grace Project so proceeds from her purple bows go directly to the foundation. Supporting local, supporting sewists and supporting "Love Wins"--- perfection.

Important Info:

All bows and bowties are $12 (including tax).

More from Jennie:

So just a little about myself... I am 31and married to a wonderful man and elementary school teacher, Craig. Together we have two children, Cameron (age 4) and Cadence (age 1) and live in Glastonbury, CT.

Now how did I start Wildflower Handmade? Well, in the hectic sleepless time of Cadence's first year, I decided to start waking up an hour earlier (crazy, right?!) and really taking care of myself. Journaling, Exercising, Meditating, Goal-writing, Day-dreaming... just me and a giant cup of coffee. It was during these few months that I felt like a lightning bolt struck me. I wanted to create...and, specifically, fabric bows and bowties. I didn't own a shred of fabric or a sewing machine and the idea was actually insane.

Furthermore, I didn't want to just sell them... I wanted to give them away! I wanted to make them for children in hospitals, purple ones for Ana to raise money to donate {www.anagraceproject.com}, and make them for someone that just needed a handmade item that I poured my heart into. I got teased that I was already planning to give away bows before I even sold one and I had to laugh at that because... good point! But it certainly didn't change my mind about my business plan.

I consulted with a sewing guru (Laura of Hartford Stitch), bought a sewing machine, contacted Ruth and Liz to create a logo, and never looked back. In a short time, I have raised over $100 for The Ana Grace Project, donated countless bows/bowties, and have really changed the course of my life by making this leap. I am so grateful for each of you that is reading this because you are my friends, my family, my support. So, thank you!!!!
