About the event

Our  scrap basket is overflowing and it's time to turn them into beautiful  scrappy blankets to donate to Journey Home. Journey Home is a local  organization finding innovative solutions to end homelessness in  Hartford. We are excited to be partnering again with them on this  project! This year there are even more ways to help out!

JANUARY 12TH - 26TH

PHASE 1: AT HOME BLOCK MAKING

All of our blocks are created using an improvisational method: essentially sew two pieces together, press flat, add another piece and keep on going! At home sewers will pick up packs of fabric from the studio between January 17th and January 22nd, sew the blocks at home, and return to the studio by January 26th. There's no minimum or maximum number of blocks-- every bit helps!

JANUARY 24TH

SCRAP SORTING

Join us at the studio from 9am - 11am to sort our scraps in preparation for Sunday's sewing!

BY JANUARY 26TH

COLLECTION DAY!

We are looking for donations of cotton quilting fabric for the backing (2-4 yard cuts) and twin size cotton batting. (Want to buy it and have it sent straight to us? Check out our Amazon wishlist!) Last year we made 12 quilts so we need a fair amount! Batting can be batting scraps sewn together. It doesn't need to be brand new. We ask that all donations and made-at-home blocks be donated by this date. We can schedule a time that works best for you to drop off.

JANUARY 28th
