Service Description

**Early access registration opens July 25th for newsletter subscribers and July 27th for general registration.** Sewing is fun, creative, practical and empowering! Whether you have a budding fashion designer in your family or a creative kid who's looking for a new artistic medium-- this class is a perfect way to start! We'll learn the basics of machine operation: threading the machine and bobbin, switching stitch length and width and we'll finish up by sewing a patchwork pillow! **Please note: Kid Sewing Machine 101, or similar experience, is required for registration in any of our after school classes and project workshops!** AVAILABLE DATES -Wednesday, September 16th from 4pm - 6pm (this class will be held at the Park Rd. location) **All the following dates will be held at the Sedgwick Rd. location in the main classroom unless otherwise noted.** -Saturday, September 26th from 9:30am - 11:30am with Laura -Saturday, October 10th from 11:30am - 1:30pm with Erin- upper classroom -Saturday, October 31st from 9am - 11am with Erin-- get ready for a spooky twist!- upper classroom -Saturday, November 14th from 9am - 11am with Erin- upper classroom -Saturday, December 12th from 9am - 11am with Erin -Saturday, December 19th from 9am - 11am with Erin **Also check out our Kid and Grownup 101 listing if you'd like to learn to sew with your child!** DETAILS Skill Level: New Sewist: You have no experience or need a refresher in the basics! Ages 8-15 Equipment Needed: Bring your machine or use one of ours. If you're bringing yours please be sure it's in working order and bring the foot pedal, power cord, needle, empty bobbin and manual. Sewing machines designed for children (typically white and purple/pink) cannot be accommodated in class. Ask us if you have any questions! Location: All classes will be held at our new studio at 13 Sedgwick Rd unless otherwise noted. This studio is on the ground floor. The upper classroom requires a few steps to access. Please contact us if mobility is an issue. Materials Needed: All materials will be provided.


Cancellation Policy

-A minimum enrollment must be met by 72 hours prior to the workshop or the workshop may be cancelled. If this happens you will receive a full refund. -You may cancel for a refund or transfer your registration up to 1 week before a one-time workshop, 2 weeks before a multi-week series, 3 weeks before an Intensive Workshop, and 4 weeks before a camp. There are no refunds or class transfers for guest teachers. After this date there will be no refunds or transfers unless we are able to fill your spot from a waitlist. -All student requested refunds will be subject to a 3% processing fee. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to cancel a class at any time. Should we do so you will receive a full refund. -No shows forfeit any refund or transfers. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to substitute teachers either for a single class or the entire session if necessary. Please note: Classes at our Park Rd studio are on the second floor and only accessible by stairs. The Sedgwick Rd studio is on the ground floor. The back classroom has a few stairs to access. Please notify us immediately if you have mobility concerns and we will do our best to accommodate.
