We could not have asked for a better start to 2016! This was our first session of project based classes instead of long multi-week sessions and it was a success!
Here's a quick recap of all the fun we had this month and what's to come in February and March!
Our Adult Machine 101 Ladies did an awesome job with their drawstring bags. I love this project-- it's quick and easy, but there's something so satisfying about making a bag, with boxed corners no less! We have 2 spots left in our class on Sat, Feb 6th, 2 spots left in our class on Thurs, Feb 18th, and 1 spot left in our class on Wed, March 9th.
Our Kid Machine 101 kids were not to be outdone! All 5 girls found their way around a machine and left with beautiful pillows and had a chance to practice the fun stitches on some Kraft-Tex bracelets! We have more classes coming up on Sat, Feb 13th and Sat, March 12th.
These ladies met for 2 weeks to work on their pleated totes. Can you believe that for many of them this was only their second project? They learned all about interfacing, topstitching, pleating and boxing corners and did a phenomenal job!
Our last regular class of the month was to make a pillowcase. Sewing with these girls was a great way to spend a Saturday morning! They tackled everything with this project from measuring and cutting the fabric and sewing FRENCH SEAMS (after explaining I asked "Doesn't that sound fancy?". One replied, "It sounds... French?"). It was so much fun I added an Adult Pillowcase class for Wed, Feb 10th.
Have I mentioned that we also offer private parties? We got to spend a fun Friday evening with these ladies in a private party that they received as a Christmas gift. They tackled curved seams like pros and made all these gorgeous jewelry pouches!
Last, but not least, we were so excited to work on these foldover clutches with our friends at Hartford Prints! We have some more Sip + Sews in the works and will let you know when they are open for registration!
