Natural Dye Class

Service Description

Discover the magic of working with natural dyes as you explore and practice indigo resist dyeing, bundle dyeing, eco printing and hapa zome using raw natural dye materials, fresh plants and food waste on silk and cotton. We will discuss the basics of natural dyeing, including how to prepare your fabric with a mordant to ensure the colors hold over time. Each student will leave with four dyed pieces (1 cotton fat quarter, 2 cotton bandanas and a habotai silk scarf) and a detailed, instructional handout. She is an artist and elementary art teacher with a passion for natural dye, gardening and crafted cocktails. Cancellation Policy

-A minimum enrollment must be met by 48 hours prior to the workshop or the workshop may be cancelled. If this happens you will receive a full refund. -You may cancel for a refund or transfer your registration up to 1 week before a one-time workshop, 2 weeks before a Foundations or After School series and 4 weeks before a camp. There are no refunds or class transfers for guest teachers. After this date there will be no refunds or transfers unless we are able to fill your spot from a waitlist. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to cancel a class at any time. Should we do so you will receive a full refund. -No shows forfeit any refund or transfers. -Hartford Stitch reserves the right to substitute teachers either for a single class or the entire session if necessary.
